Cloud ERP?

BIZOV3.0

BIZO V3.0 is access anywhere through internet.

The cloud is a network of servers that store data. Each server has its own function. Some servers run applications, or “deliver a service”, while others just simply store data.

The main benefit of the cloud is that can be accessed remotely through the internet. So, you can access an application or stored data from any computer that has an internet connection.

So, a cloud ERP means that the Enterprise Resource Planning system is hosted on a platform, or servers, that can be accessed through any web browser.

Instead of opening up a program installed on your computer desktop, you can just access your ERP system by typing it into your web browser.

Features of ERP

Ease of Use

Ease of use is a major consideration when looking at cloud-based ERP applications. After all, what good does it do for an organization to implement a cloud-based ERP system if it’s so complicated and so different from current business practices that users are left dazed and confused?

Scalability

Scalability is as essential as is ease of use. Scalability refers to the ability of the cloud-based application to grow or contract according to the demand placed on it. Most cloud providers have robust systems that handle scaling up well—that’s part of the beauty of being in the cloud—but scaling back down after an organization has expanded might be more difficult.

Low/Easy Customization

Most ERP applications require some level of customization. Few work with every system and perform every necessary task on demand. One of the draws to cloud-based ERP applications, however, is that they should generally require low levels of customization, even when integrating ERP with other applications. If customization is required, it should be easy to implement without a huge investment in technology resources and personnel.

Training Programs and Assistance

As important as all of these other features are, none of them ensures that users get the full value of cloud-based ERP applications unless those users know how to use the application efficiently. Unfortunately, many cloud-based ERP vendors offer only the most basic of training programs. A few hours or even a day-long training sessions isn’t going to be effective in teaching people how to use the application to its fullest extent.

Always-On Support

No matter how easy to use an application is or how minimal the customization required, there will come a time when customer support is a must-have. Some cloud-based ERP vendors don’t have 24x7 customer support. This support is a feature that organizations can overlooked, but it’s especially important when you’re working with a cloud-based vendor because problems don’t always occur during normal working hours.
